If you are quick to take offense, then you'll be under the control of those who you find offensive.
If you are easily angered, then your actions will be dictated by those who anger you.
If you are obsessed by what other people think, then you will be imprisoned by their thoughts.
If you yearn for easy answers and quick solutions, you'll fall prey to people who offer you nothing but promises.
If you find the truth too difficult to bear, you'll be enslaved to those who tell you what you want to hear.
When you have the courage to think for yourself, the strength to accept what is, the commitment and discipline to make a difference,
then you are free.
You are truly free to live with purpose, joy and fulfillment.
Let your life be defined, not by reactions to what others do, say, or think but rather your own unique vision.
Raise your eyes above the pettiness and follow the path of the greatness that is within you.

Take It Easy Tuesday: The Zipper
The Zipper
In a crowded city at a busy bus stop, a beautiful young woman wearing a tight leather skirt was waiting for a bus. As the bus stopped and it was her turn to get on, she became aware that her skirt was too tight to allow her leg to come up to the height of the first step of the bus. Slightly embarrassed and with a quick smile to the bus driver, she reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little, thinking that this would give her enough slack to raise her leg. She tried to take the step, only to discover that she couldn't. So, a little more embarrassed, she once again reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little more, and for the second time attempted the step. Once again, much to her chagrin, she could not raise her leg. With a little smile to the driver, she again reached behind to unzip a little more and again was unable to take the step. About this time, a large Texan who was standing behind her picked her up easily by the waist and placed her gently on the step of the bus. She went ballistic and turned to the would-be Samaritan and screeched, "How dare you touch my body! I don't even know you!" The Texan smiled and drawled, "Well, ma'am, normally I would agree with you, but after you unzipped my fly three
times, I kinda figured we was friend's."

My Profile
The idea of skin color plays a significant role in peoples' lives.
It defines who we are before we even open our mouths.
Tonight, I was racially profiled- not a witness, but a victim of it.
My being wants to lash out, but somewhere deep within all that I am, I know that would make matters worse.
So instead, I share my love, my kindness, my patience, and my tolerance.
And I'll stubbornly wait until things change.
Because they have to...
...right?
